Guiding Directors

Our Guiding Directors are all experts in their field who seek to affect positive change through educational empowerment.  Each individual has a background that includes a minimum of 10 years of educational experience and a Master’s Degree in Education.  Many of our Guiding Directors have more than one advanced graduate degree, as well as extensive experience in education working with individuals from birth to college age.

 

Below you will find information about each individual and his or her areas of expertise.  Each individual guides the mission of our organization through direct work with our consultants.  Depending upon the need of an organization, these individuals are also available to serve as consultants.

Lori Ellis

  • Summary of Experience:  16 years of educational experience as a Library Media Specialist. BA Honors in Film Studies, M.Ed. in Education, CAS – Sixth Year Degree, Literacy Specialist
  • Areas of Expertise: Digital Citizenship; Technology Integration; Social Media; Connecting Students to Books – Inspirational Literacy

Terry Ellis

  • Summary of Experience:  25 years of educational experience including teaching at the middle level, as well as a variety of instructional leadership positions. BA in Secondary English Education, MAT in English Education, Sixth Year in Educational Psychology: Gifted Education.
  • Areas of Expertise: Gifted Education; Literacy Instruction; Social-Emotional Needs; Differentiated Instruction

Darren Gunn

  • Summary of Experience:  16 years of educational experience including teaching at the middle level, as well as a variety of instructional leadership positions. BA in English Creative Writing, M.Ed. in Secondary Education, Sixth Year in Educational Leadership.
  • Areas of Expertise: Technology in Education; Literacy Instruction; Parent Communication; Gifted Education; IEP Implementation

Jessica Kilmetz

  • Summary of Experience:  15 years of educational experience that includes both teaching and administration. BA in Anthropology, MEd in Educational Technology, Certificates in English, ESL, Elementary Library Science, and Administration
  • Areas of Expertise:  ESL; Urban Education; Secondary Education; Secondary Literacy; Organizational Change; Technology Integration 

Tanya Leonard

  • Summary of Experience:  17 years of educational experience including teaching at the Middle Level and Special Education Leadership. BA in Special Education, MEd in Special Education with a concentration in Emotional Disturbances, CAS – Sixth Year Degree, Literacy Specialist
  • Areas of Expertise:  Social and Emotional Development; IEP Development and Progress Monitoring; Literacy; Peer Mentoring; Youth Leadership

Timothy Leonard

  • Summary of Experience:  18 years of educational and administrative experience, including teaching at the Middle Level; BS in English, MAT in Education, CAS in Educational Administration, EdD in Educational Leadership
  • Areas of Expertise:  Literacy, Developmental Reading, Writing, Social and Emotional Development; Classroom Managemnet

Tami O’Connor

  • Summary of Experience:  CEO Educational Innovations, Inc., 16 years in education, AS in Aeronautical Science, BS in Elementary Education, MS in curriculum
  • Areas of Expertise: Science Education; STEM; Elementary Education; Curriculum Development

Nicole Querze

  • Summary of Experience:  16 years of educational experience working with students age 3-21.  Autism and inclusion specialist, BA in Special Education, MA in Autism
  • Areas of Expertise:  Autism Spectrum Disorders; Student Assessment; Early Childhood Interventions; Social Thinking Curriculum

Kathy Weiss

  • Summary of Experience:  15 years of experience in education, BS in Psychology, Master’s Degree in Social Work, LCSW,
  • Areas of Expertise:  Psychotherapy: Individual and Group Therapy for Children, Adolescents, and Young Adults; Depression; Anxiety; Divorce; School Refusal; Transition difficulties; Self Harming Behaviors and Suicidal Ideation; Family conflicts; Facilitating PATH’s- Person Centered Plans; Crisis Intervention Plans

We are available to work with Families (Parent Advocacy), PTA Organizations, Community Organizations, and School Systems.

In addition, our highly qualified professionals offer Executive Function Coaching (EFC) for students of all ages.
